Antique Bisque dolls

Bisque dolls are not all made entirely from bisque because of this materials properties,  weight and the fragility such a doll would have. Bisque dolls are usually referred to as porcelain dolls. Until the 1860s, dolls were made from porcelain. These were glazed and similarly looked like china. The truth is they are slightly different from porcelain dolls. They were first made leather clothing as well as the bodies. Today, these dolls are very expensive, fragile and breakable. They are manufactured not for playing. Way around, bisque is porcelain that is not glazed whereas porcelain is a result of paste from a mixture of water and clay.
